Western Day at Superstition Mountain Museum

On Friday July 14th, 240 kids grades K thru 6 and their leaders from Mesa Parks and Rec visited the Superstition Mountain Museum. Superstition Horsemen’s Association provided backpack/mailbags filled with post cards, pencils, reflectors, Smokey Bear and Leave No Trace stickers from the forest service. We also talked about the Pony Express and did a running Handoff to everyone’s delight! We were also joined by East Valley Back Country Horsemen and a pack horse demonstration. A roping demonstration was a hit as the kids tried their hand tossing ropes onto the steer dummies. The horse community was well represented along with the other museum exhibits. Many Thanks to all our volunteers!
